These typefaces are included in the Comic Value Pack:

Swedish designer Lutz Baar designed the font Balder™, which is reminiscent of advertisement and poster typefaces of the 1950s and 1960s. It is composed of only capital letters, making it perfect for initials and headlines. Balder looks as though it were written with a broad tipped pen. Its light serifs at the tops of the characters and the slant of some of the strokes give Balder a dynamic feel.

Postino™, the work of British designer Timothy Donaldson, is a quirky display type modeled roughly on the typewriter face Courier. Sturdy yet playful, Postino is aptly named with the Italian word for postman or courier. Skimming through a back issue of Visible Language (a journal about written language), Donaldson was impressed by the robust beauty of an emboldened Courier typeface. The book designer had used the face to make “cheeky little headlines and they looked superb.” Donaldson decided the world needed a typeface like this but one that “poked its tongue out” just a bit more, while still wearing its functional clothes. Postino is ideal for not-entirely-serious headlines, CD covers, children´s books, and advertising copy.

Linotype Escript™ from German designer Hans-Jürgen Ellenberger is a handwriting font with fresh, lively forms. Each letter has a slightly different character, yet all fit well together and this lack of concrete rules gives the font a spontaneous feel. Escript is well-suited to headlines, smaller texts, and initials when combined with constructed typefaces.

The Techno sound of the 1990s, a personal computer, a font creation software and some inspiration had been the sources to F2F Tagliatelle Sugo™. Italian designer Alessio Leonardi and his friends had the demand to create new unusual faces that should be used in the leading german techno magazine "Frontpage". Even typeset in 6 point to nearly unreadability it was a pleasure for the kids to read and decrypt the messages.

The whimsical gentlemen who populate Linotype Maenneken™ from German designer Martina Theisen all appear to be trying to go about their everyday activities. Occasionally, like almost all of us, they stumble into difficulties. If you are looking for a glyph displaying a man in a suit accidentally rolling down a hill, look no further! Even if your search less specific, Linotype Maenneken offers a witty touch that can lend a breath of fresh air to almost any newsletter, flyer, or other communication project.
